Mike grew up in the mountains of the Appalachian region - coal country. While playing college football Mike obtained a Bachelor's degree in 1987. In the mid-1990's Mike started his own business(es). In mid-2000 along with Tom Roberts, Mike started an underground contract mining business. Through the contract mining business Mike was introduced to Cobalt. The Company's management team has extensive experience in mining coal, founding, growing and selling both public and private energy and resource companies.
